The AI boom, in one income statement. The brief.

The FeaturedDaily DeskVerified May 2026

Nvidia reported record quarterly revenue of $81.6bn on 20 May 2026, up 85% year on year.

What happened. On 20 May, Nvidia reported record first-quarter revenue of $81.6 billion, up 85% year on year, with $75.2 billion from data centre (up 92%) on the Blackwell 300 ramp. CEO Jensen Huang called the AI-factory buildout 'the largest infrastructure expansion in human history'.

The cash. The board added $80 billion to its buyback and raised the dividend to $0.25 a share — signalling confidence the demand is durable.
