# Slack launches Code Channels for team-supervised AI coding

**What happened:** Salesforce-owned Slack announced Slack Code on 20 August 2026. Tag a coding agent in any conversation and it spins up a dedicated "code channel" for that task.

**The details:** Each channel has tabs for the conversation, the agent's plan, code diffs and live previews of HTML output. Teammates see exactly what the agent sees, leave feedback it acts on, and approve the finished work before it ships. Once done, the channel archives itself, keeping its history as an audit log.

**The numbers:** Slack Code is included in every Slack plan, though using the agents themselves may require a paid account with their provider. The rollout is gradual.
