What launched
Lamp Dating version 2.0 launched 1 June 2026. Three things changed. First, a full app redesign — cleaner, faster, built natively for iOS 26. Second, a significantly improved Genie AI assistant — better at personalised profile writing, more contextual openers, date planning built in. Third, Wishes: instead of filling in preference boxes, you describe what you want in plain English. The AI reads your Wishes and uses them in matching. Everything remains free on the App Store.
How it differs from Tinder, Hinge and Bumble
The difference is architectural, not cosmetic. Tinder, Hinge and Bumble all match primarily on photos. Lamp Dating's AI matches on personality, values, lifestyle and goals. Instead of an infinite swipe stack, you receive a small curated shortlist of compatible people, each with an explanation of why they fit. No other mainstream dating app offers this. Genie — the AI assistant — also has no equivalent on Tinder, Hinge or Bumble: it helps write your profile, suggests a relevant first message and can help plan a date.
