What happened. On 28 May, Sesame released a public preview of its iPhone voice app in 39 countries, with four AI agents, built on its Conversational Speech Model — prized for sounding genuinely human and for keeping conversation flowing.
Who's behind it. Sesame was co-founded by alumni of Oculus, the VR company Meta acquired. Its CSM-1B base model was previously open-sourced under Apache 2.0.
